River Villas

River Villas is a pair of mirror-like homes set quietly into the landscape, bordered by jungle and a flowing river. Conceived as parallel retreats, the villas are rooted in warm, tactile materiality, where every surface is meant to be touched, and every room frames nature without overpowering it.

The architecture is clean and minimal, but the interiors are anything but sterile. Throughout the space, richly textured elements soften the lines, copper fixtures, rustic wood cabinetry, linen-wrapped profiles, and panels that echo the jungle in tone and softness. At the heart of each master suite: an open copper bathtub, positioned to take in the view, blurring the edge between indoor and outdoor living.

Bathrooms are a sensory journey on their own. Fluted travertine vanities, travertine-clad shower walls, ironwood floors, and sculptural stone sinks create contrast in texture and temperature. Guest bathrooms feature distinctive hand-glazed tiles, deep teal blue in one, and in another, a moody honey-algae tone that shifts subtly with the light. Copper plumbing details thread through every space, lending quiet warmth against stone and timber.

A massive travertine kitchen island anchors the communal area, paired with leather and wood dining chairs and oversized, cloud-like sofas in both the living and movie rooms. The tone is slow and grounded, refined wabi-sabi, not rustic but not polished either. It’s a home that embraces stillness and material rhythm, designed to hold both solitude and shared moments
