This project holds a special place for us, as it marks our first collaboration with Project Black, one of Bali’s most successful hospitality groups. The venue, a Seminyak staple for the past 10 years, approached us for its first-ever renovation, and we were honored to be part of this significant milestone.
Our task was to breathe new life into the space while maintaining the essence that has made this venue a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. We focused on sourcing materials locally, supporting the community while ensuring a fresh, yet timeless, feel. Throughout the renovation, our goal was to create a space that felt distinct, but unmistakably Project Black—recognizable and true to the group’s identity.
We paid particular attention to the dynamic atmosphere of the restaurant, introducing elements such as layered ceiling treatments and the creation of a new kids’ playground area. The tile selection features bright accents that inject energy into the space, while the rich teak wood details keep the environment warm and inviting. A custom-designed DJ booth was also integrated to add another layer of excitement to the space, enhancing the venue’s social and energetic vibe. Additionally, we designed a dedicated merchandising area, catering to the increasing demand for retail spaces in hospitality venues, ensuring it seamlessly blends into the overall concept while adding an exciting new dimension to the experience.
By balancing the new with the familiar, we’ve succeeded in creating a unique yet cohesive space that honors the past while looking toward the future.
Each Studio Isla project features signature pieces that add distinctive character to the space. At Studio Isla, we believe that creating harmonious, aesthetic, and functional spaces is perfectly compatible with designer pieces, unique elements that enhance the space and make it a unique place. We’ll show you Nusa By Suka’s signature pieces and their impact on the space.
